Tinton Falls, NJ and New York;   At this years Trans Pacific Maritime conference (#TPM22) LOG-NET opts not to award their e-commerce excellence award. CEO John Motley sited specific data points that led to this including;

-Ocean Carrier ETAs that our AI flagged as being statistically impossible.
– Volumes in feeder networks exceeding the capacity of line haul networks during the October 2021 through December 2021 period.
– The majority of electronic bookings for space were not responded to as intended, where delayed and required extensive manual intervention to complete.
– Contract terms were introduced for digital interchanges with ocean carriers that waived any responsibility or liability for data about customer shipments to complete, timely, secure or useable.

Mr. Motley noted the lack of industry’s goal to know the estimated and actual time cargo loads “on the boat, off the boat, and all the way there” remains unachieved.
His commentary was covered this morning by Bloomberg.
